Glyph Doors / Locked Gates: Require you to scan a red symbol (glyph, rune or letter) on the door and then find the corresponding symbol in the game world. You must line up certain objects to get the required picture.Repairing Objects: At certain points there are glass shards floating in the air. Look at them from a certain angle to repair a broken object.Illusions: Sometimes you must interact with illusion gates. When you walk through them you can see certain things changing in your surroundings.Labyrinth: This is a special “shard challenge” later in the game. You must navigate through an endless maze.All of these puzzles must be solved to progress through the story!

Puzzles Video WalkthroughChapter 1 – Prologue Symbol Door #1Location: In the very same corridor as the gate. Simply turn around and look at the wall. The shadow looks like an M.Chapter 2 – Illusion Trial (Left Gate) Raven Symbol Door #1Look through the illusion gate near the raven symbol gate in order to create a hole in the wall in front of you. Now you can go to the top of the gate wall and simply have to look at the raven symbol through the correct angle.Raven Symbol Door #2Illusion Gates: You must use a series of 4 illusion gates to repair the staircase in the middle of the area.

The first one is to the left of the sealed gate. Step through it and the wall in front of you will disappear. The next 2 illusion gates do the same thing, you walk through them and they make walls disappear. The fourth illusion gate is in the old castle ruins after climbing a ladder. Crackdown 3 windmill. Once you go through the 4th gate the stairs in the middle of the area will be repaired. Now you can go up the stairs to line up the symbols with the door.Raven Symbol Door #3Look at the gate, then turn around. Now head to the far left side.

There’s an illusion gate. Step through it to repair a wooden beam. Walk over the wooden beam and once on the other side, line up the blue symbols with the door to unlock it.Raven Symbol Door #4This is the last illusion puzzle of this chapter. Be careful, finishing this puzzle will trigger a boss fight! First scan the door as usual, then step through the illusion gate on the left (must climb up a ladder).

This reveals a tree branch which you can walk over. On the other side there’s another illusion gate. Walk through it then over the wooden beams, unlock the bridge, go back through the same illusion gate again and this time look at the tree to reveal a branch to walk on. Then from the tree you can scan the symbol.Chapter 3 – Fire Trial Glyph Symbols Puzzle #1Symbol Location #1: Go up the Hill and look at the wooden pillars sticking out of the ground. Look at them from the correct angle to see an “H” shape. Scan it by holding R2. Symbol Location #2: Walk downhill and look for wooden structures that look like a “Y”.

Scan it by holding R2.Glyph Symbols Puzzle #2Symbol Location #1: Look at the trees that look like an “X”.Symbol Location #2: Go upstairs in the house and when standing on the balcony look down on the ground. There are some wooden planks missing from the wall that look like a “T”.Symbol Location #2: In the left house align the wooden planks to look like a “P”.Symbol Location #3: Climb the ladder up the watchtower. Look at it and align it with the rooftop of the right house to form a “p” symbol.Chapter 4 – Fortress Repair StairsAfter the big fight in the fortress you will see another glyph symbol door (with 3 symbols) and a boat on the right.

Stand on the boat and look at the staircase with R2 to repair it. Glyph Symbols PuzzleSymbol Location #1: Stand in the middle of the arena (bottom floor) and look for the “X” symbol that’s hanging overhead.Symbol Location #2: On the second floor (after going up the staircase that you repaired in the previous step). Look for an “S” sign hanging in the air.Symbol Location #3: On the top floor after climbing a ladder.Chapter 5 – BeachNo glyphs, puzzles or gates to be found here! Chapter 6 – Labyrinth Shard ChallengeThe Labyrinth is the blue portal to the right of the glowing tree.From the start of the labyrinth (where you pick up the torch) take the following directions: LEFT – RIGHT – LEFT – RIGHT – LEFT – RIGHT – RIGHT – RIGHT – TUNNEL – RIGHT – RED GATE.Interact with the Red Gate (press X) to open it and complete this challenge chapter. Chapter 7 – Tower Shard ChallengeTower shard is one of the blue portals to the left of the glowing tree.Glyph Symbol Puzzle #1Symbol location: You have to make your way inside the fortress by switching between the past and the present. Once inside, you have to be in the past to scan this symbol.

Stand on top of the platform and look in the direction of the sealed main entrance. You should see the sunbeams forming this symbol on the wall now. Repair StairsNow that the symbol has been scanned, you can leave the fortress again and return to the present.

Open the main entrance by using the code and once you are inside, you should see the missing staircase right in front of you. Align yourself correctly and scan the staircase pieces to repair it.Glyph Symbols Puzzle #2Symbol location #1: Switch back to the past again and simply turn 180° from the door. You should see the arrow being formed by the sunbeams again.Symbol location #2: Go upstairs and oben the 2 doors to the balcony. You have to go into the present again and stand on the balcony. You can see the M which is made up from some wooden beams and ropes when you look down from the balcony.

You can also see Dillion in the background.Symbol location #3: Once you’ve lowered both bridges on the highest floor of the tower, you can simply switch back to the past and go outside on the other balcony of this floor. The symbol is pretty hard to miss once you are outside.Chapter 8 – Swamp Shard ChallengeSwamp Challenge is the second portal to the left of the glowing tree.Illusion GatesYou have to use the three illusion gates at the start of the challenge in order to restore a bridge. Gate #1 will clear a barricade in your way. Gate #2 will clear the barricade sealing off the watchtower area of the swamp. Gate #3 will permanently open up a door to the watchtower area.

Now you have to use gate #2 again to restore the barricade and the stairs leading up to the watchtower.Repair BridgeNow on top of the watchtower, simply stand on the board that connects both towers. Look down to the bridge and align all the floating pieces to fully restore it.Glyph Symbols PuzzleOnce you focus on the door, you will be instantly teleported to a maze area with an enemy chasing you, so be ready for this!

The enemy is made up of fire and you can’t get too close to him. You have to find all 3 symbols in this maze and then return to the door to escape. The symbols are in different corners of the maze and they are emitting a very bright white light. Chapter 9 – Blindness Shard ChallengeNo glyphs, puzzles or gates to be found here! Chapter 10 – Helheim Glyph Symbols Puzzle #1Symbol location #1: Do a 180° turn and then take the first left.

Go downstairs once you are in the spiral staircase area. Once you’ve escaped Fenrir and acquired a new torch, turn around and head over to the right side of the room. You have to find an archway in front of some stalagmites and go through it. At the very end of that corridor, you have to light a torch in order to make the symbol reflect from the water surface.Symbol location #2: Back at the spiral staircase, go upstairs this time. Follow the corridors until you get to an area with another torch that you can light. Light it and the symbol will be cast onto the wall next to it.Symbol location #3: Back at the initial puzzle, turn around and then take the second turn to the right.

Walk down the stairs and you should be in a room with about 4-6 torches. Light them all and get on top of a broken cage nearby. Now that the room is lit, the bloody symbol on the floor will be visible.Glyph Symbol Puzzle #2Symbol location: Turn to the right, go up the stairs, turn right again and go even further up the stairs. Once you are on top, there is a torch for you to light. Now that it has been lit, go back into the previous area and take a left. The R you were looking for will now be visible.Glyph Symbols Puzzle #3Location: Light the torch in front of the gate to complete the first part of this symbol.

Now turn around and go through the tunnel to your left (don’t go through the waterfall just yet, or you will die). At the end of the tunnel, there is another torch for you to light. Now that that torch has been lit, go through the waterfall. Your torch will go out and Fenrir will start to chase you.

Run towards the torch you previously lit and Senua will slam herself onto the bridge. Now simply re-ignite your own torch, turn around and light the last torch of this area. Go through the waterfall/ tunnel to get back to the gate. The M should now be clearly visible on the wall.Chapter 11 – After Fenrir Boss Repair Bridge Part 1Go all the way up the first spiral staircase in this area.

Once you are near the ledge, simply look down at the bridge and align the pieces.Repair Bridge Part 2When you are standing in front of the bridge, take a right and go up two sets of stairs. Now simply look down at the bridge again and align the pieces.Repair EntranceThis time you actually want to stand on the bridge itself. Turn around, looking at the side you came from. On the left you’ll see some floating pieces in the air again, align them correctly to restore the missing entrance.Repair Bridge Part 3Now go through the entrance you just restored.

After coming through a prison cell area, there will be another spiral staircase. Go up to the second highest floor and walk up to the ledge at the end of the corridor. Now simply align the pieces again.That’s all of the puzzles in Hellblade!

Back on the beach, head toward the mountain and up the stairs; open the door to enter Helheim.

Progressing the game this far will unlock the Into The Mountainachievement.
As of August 10, 2017, PC players -- at least those with an AMD GPU -- will likely experience severe performance issues in this section. A patch -- currently in progress -- is needed to fix it, but in the meantime, you can use a workaround: right click the game in Steam > Properties > Set Launch Options and add -USEALLAVAILABLECORES -dx10. If you have another version of the game, find the HellbladeGame-Win64-Shipping .exe, right click it and create a shortcut to it, right click the shortcut and select Properties, and add -USEALLAVAILABLECORES -dx10 to the end of the 'Target' field. Graphics will suffer a bit, but the game will run much more smoothly in these sections, and the game will be a lot less demanding on your hardware in general.
As of August 18, 2017, the aforementioned performance issues should be resolved with the release of the 1.01.1 hotfix.

Focus the lore stone [35/44] inside to learn more about Sigurd, then head left or right and open the door where Garm resides, a great beast guarding Helheim.

Run headlong toward the light then toward the door which will be locked. Grab the torch, at which point your 'mother' will appear and tell you to help her. Focus the runes on the door, then turn around and take a left, descending into the cave via the stairs.

Crawl underneath the broken gate and walk toward the second one; go underwater and quickly move toward the light, resting there until the noise stops. Repeat this process until you reach the fire; grab a torch, then turn around and light all torches in the area then find the room off to the side. Light the torch and push on through toward the blue light. Light the torch there too and focus toward the wooden beams and the water to trace the first rune.

Return to the area where you grabbed the torch, then return to the cave and use your torch to light up the area to the left of where you found your torch to find a lore stone [36/44].

Next, head up the stairs, then up a second set of stairs at the top. Before exiting, take a peek to the left of the next door to find another lore stone [37/44]. Enter the next room and light the torch, then focus the symbol on the wall to find the second rune. Open the door nearby then take a left; keep going straight until you see a stairway leading downward into an unlit room, where Northmen will appear. Fight them, then pick up your torch and light all torches in the room. Ascend the small stairs then focus the ground below to trace the final rune.

Head back to the rune door and open it, at which point the beast will appear and chase you. Run until you fall and drop your focus medallion. Shimmy across the ledge toward the open gate; grab the torch nearby and proceed straight ahead, then take a left to find another rune door.

Fight the Northmen that appear, then head back the way you came, this time taking a right. Look at the broken wood to trace the rune, then head through the previous door; light the torch in the cave then continue across the beam. Take a right in this next room to find a lore stone [38/44] that will teach you about the dragon Fafnir. Then, take a left downstairs, where you'll find another lore stone [39/44], this one teaching you more about Fafnir and Sigmund.

Focus the rune door, then turn around and take the left route, crouching and moving forward until you find a fire pot. Light it, then return to the rune door, this time heading through the waterfall. Take a right and quickly run straight and slightly to the left, knocking down the small bridge. Relight your torch, then turn around, heading toward the waterfall and up the small stairs where you'll light the second torch. Now the rune pattern will be complete: observe it through the gate to trace it. Open the rune door, making sure to relight your torch before you head through. Focus the lore stone [40/44] to learn yet more about Fafnir and how Sigurd killed him.

Continue on through the tunnels until you finally face the beast (Fenrir), which is also the 'shadow' you heard in your head before. At first he'll do little to stop your attacks, but will soon begin to vomit 'darkness'. Ride it out until the light reappears, at which point he will disappear. Search for it, then it will lunge from the shadows. Dodge this attack if you can (or force yourself to get back up if you can't), then go on the offensive. Repeat the process until the beast is slain (seemingly).

Progressing the game to this point will unlock the Tamed the Beastachievement.

Fenrir will have more fight left in him, but you will survive and defeat him in a cutscene. Afterward, you'll learn Fenrir is the monster your father has become.

Helheim Walkthrough

Head deeper into the mountain; at the bridge, take a left and go up the ladder, then take a right and focus the lore stone [41/44] to learn more about Ragnarok. Go upstairs, then focus the broken bridge to fix one section of it. Turn back around and fight a large group of Northmen. Once defeated, return to the area above the ladder from before, but this time take a left, then a right up two sets of stairs. Focus the bridge below to fix the second section of it.

Walk onto the bridge, then turn around and look toward the doorway. Enter through the doorway; take a right and focus the lore stone [42/44] to learn more about the Ragnarok. Turn back around and crawl into the tunnel, then go up the stairs and take the first door into the room with the Northmen. Defeat them, then peer out over the nearby ledge to completely fix the bridge. Turn around and head up the stairs to find another lore stone [43/44], which will teach you yet more about the Ragnarok and the last battle of the gods.

Take the stairs all the way to bottom into the prison area. Look to your right for an open cell with a lore stone [44/44] inside. Next, unlock the gate on the right pathway, making your way to the bridge. Fight the Northmen that appear. They will do their best to surround you, so make especially great use of evasion and blocking to survive. Head through the gate and approach the mirror to 'let go' of your old self, then through the portal.

If you collected all of the lore stones in the game, Druth will appear here and tell you both he and your father lead the Northmen to their lands for selfish reasons. This is significant to Senua because it means they were the source of the 'darkness' that spread to her land, not her or the gods, as she believed.

Once through the portal, you'll watch your mother burn alive. The 'shadow' (your father) is behind it; learning this sends Senua into a rage. Approach Hela; she will knock you back and send Northmen after you. Once they're defeated, approach her again; this time she will send avatars of the gods after you. Defeat them twice, then approach her yet again. This time she will send an infinite number of Northmen after you. It's not possible to defeat them all.

Once you lose the fight, The Final Battleachievement will unlock.

Next, Hela will 'kill' you, after which you will let Dillion go once and for all, thus concluding the game.
